Further to below, the crotch to waist (rise) is ridiculously long. Meaning the shorts need to be worn halfway up your stomach to not have the crotch sit too low. I’m probably going to alter these to make the crotch about two or three inches higher. They naturally ‘fall down’ to a position where the crotch length becomes an issue with movement/climbing (probably why another reviewer mentioned having to use a belt).
These do look great. Loads of pockets, also, they’re useful pockets with a bit of girth to them, unlike some brands. The fabric has a lot of stretch, which is great for movement (except with the crotch/waist issue above). It is relatively heavy fabric, being a cotton blend, but I imagine they’d feel reasonably cool in warm weather. They probably won’t last as long as a tougher polycotton blend, though cotton will probably feel a little cooler/less sweaty, so probably a good compromise.
I measured my waist with a tape (I don’t normally buy ‘off-the-peg’ clothes as I’m too tall, at 6’9”) and my waist is exactly 35 1/2” inches. I originally ordered a 36” and it is probably one size too much (it’s measurements were 37” stretching to 43”). I then ordered a 34inch now and it does fit better, but with a crotch/waist length is a bad fit which I am going to have to get altered.
Sizing aside, these do look great, with quite a few useful pockets. Time will tell how the stitching will last, but they do appear pretty good. I’d recommend ordering a couple of sizes and seeing how they go as the waist is very forgiving. Also, for taller people these, for me go down to my knees, which is nice... as hot pants aren’t a good look with my pale legs
